24-Year-Old Rookie Takes Home Top-15 Finish at Monadnock
Bobby Grigas, III had one big goal going into Saturday’s True Value Modified Racing Series race and that was to finish. After the 100 green flag laps of the event was up, his night was considered to be a success. After all, his mission was accomplished by finishing 13th.
“I think the biggest accomplishment was actually making the race because eight other cars went home,” said Grigas. “I could probably have gotten out of the car and ran faster than it was going. The car just did not want to play nice for me.”
Despite not having the car set up perfectly for the race, Grigas was able to work his way through the field from his 23rd starting position all the way up to finish 13th. He raced clean, stayed out of trouble and was consistent throughout the race.
“We started 23rd and worked our way up to 13th, I was just holding my own and trying to be consistent every lap, I just kind
of wanted to bring the car home without crashing it, after the first couple of laps when I realized that the car was not really being nice to me, I just kind of rode out the race and finished my first ever hundred lap race, and my first ever True Value Modified race. I was just trying to feel out the drivers and the track.

“It was my first time on the track, and when I first saw it I thought to my self it’s a little to much car for a track like this. I have to say that this is one of the hardest tracks that I have ever raced at. Now I am ready for the next one.”
Bobby Grigas will take to the track next on May 6, 2006 when the True Value Modified Racing Series heads to Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, NH.
Bobby Grigas will compete in the True Value Modified Racing Series full-time in 2006. For more information on Grigas, please contact Mike Twist at (207) 590-1786 and be sure to look out for the all-new Bobby Grigas, III website coming soon
