BOBBY GRIGAS, III IS READY FOR HIS FIRST NORTH-SOUTH SHOOTOUT

New Tracks Have Worked Out Well for Rookie Mod Driver This Season

Before the 2006 season started, Bobby Grigas, III had never been to many of the tracks where he’s raced his #09 Modified this year.  By the time that the season was winding to a finish, he had gotten to know many of those tracks pretty well – and even found where victory lane was at Canaan and Waterford.

So Grigas isn’t worried about going to his first North-South Shootout at Concord Motorsport Park.  The track might be new to him, but he accepts the challenge.

“Concord will be another new track for me,” said Grigas.  “I am pretty excited to head there.   I have done pretty well at some of these new tracks that I have never been to before, so hopefully this will be another one.”

Grigas is realistic about his goals for the Shootout.  He’s closing in on the finish of his rookie season in Modifieds and, even though he’s won races this year against the likes of racers like Ted Christopher and Kirk Alexander, Grigas doesn’t want to get in over his head.

“I just want to have a decent finish,” said Grigas.  “I want to finish the race.  Hopefully I can make it through time trials and the heat race.  A top-10 would be awesome. I just want to go home and finish it and bring the car back in one

piece.  I would just like to finish my first North-South Shootout.”

The North-South Shootout isn’t just a regular race either.  With the best Modified teams from the Carolinas to Massachusetts taking part in the race, it’s about bragging rights between two factions of the sport as well.

“I have to go down there and represent the Northern Modified Guys. It should be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to get on track.”

The North-South Shootout at Concord Motorsport Park (NC) is set for November 3rd-4th.  Qualifying will take place on Friday evening, with Saturday night bringing about feature races for several different divisions of Modifieds.
