Now, Grigas and the Paige team will focus on the Thursday night season opener at Thompson International Speedway on May 22nd. They will compete in the Sunoco Modified division there.
“We’ll go to Thompson and give ‘em hell,” said Grigas. “The car was good on Icebreaker weekend and we had bad luck and then got rained out, so now we’ll really be able to see what we can do with it.”
Bobby Grigas’ trip to All-Star Speedway for the All-Star Showdown on Saturday night was his first Tour-type Modified race driving the #09 car owned by Jimmy Paige. While the night didn’t end with a big result, it was a productive trip for the young driver and new team.
Grigas retired early from the event with handling problems, but the time he spent on the track was valuable.
“We learned a lot,” said Grigas. “We took the bumps and bruises that a new team will encounter and we’ll build from this. We’re not afraid. Everything is here for us to do well together.
