Grigas Brings Home Top-10 at Spencer Speedway
Looks Toward Mid-Week Event at Seekonk Speedway
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Spencer Speedway (NY) might have been Bobby Grigas III’s first time at the track, but observers wouldn’t have been able to tell that from the looks of his top-10 finish. Some obstacles were thrown his way but that didn’t prevent him from bringing a home a 10th- place finish.

“It’s a funky track to race on,” said Grigas.  “We qualified ninth and we got the car going well in the race and then I ended up getting in an incident early on in the race and I got a right-front (tire) flat.

“We came in and changed the tire and I drove right back up to sixth.  I had a top-five car but I messed up something in the front end, and later on in the race our car just started going away.  Pretty much every time the caution came out we would come in and work on some stuff.  Over all it was a good day.  It wasn’t the finish that I wanted, but at least I finished.”

This week there will be a short turn around for the driver as he will head to his home track of Seekonk Speedway (MA) for the Modified Madness event at “The Cement Palace” on Open Wheel Wednesday.

“I am definitely psyched about heading to Seekonk this week,” added Grigas.  “I know that the Seekonk guys can be pretty tough.  Also, I am not running my car.  I am driving for someone else so I am just going to give it a try and see how it goes on Wednesday.”

Grigas will be back on track in the Viveiros Insurance Open Wheel Wednesday event this Wednesday at Seekonk Speedway (MA).  The young driver will be out to capture the $10,000 winner's purse in the open Modified event.
