Bobby Grigas Disappointed at Stafford,
Looks Forward to Thompson

Bobby Grigas III was ready for two great weeks of racing at two of his better tracks, Stafford Motor Speedway and Thompson International Speedway.  When the checkered flag flew on the Whelen Modified Fall Final at Stafford, Grigas was left scratching his head as the handling on his Triple-G Scaffold Services Chevrolet was absent from the racing weekend.  Grigas managed to come home 18th.

“On Saturday we struggled a little in practice and in the end the car wasn’t all that bad,” said Grigas.  “In time trials we had one of the faster first laps, but I bobbled a little bit on the second lap and that didn’t help.”

Grigas rolled off 11th in the 150-lap feature, but it was clear right away that track conditions were hindering him from advancing his position.

“Track position was key and everyone was sliding around looking for grip,” added Grigas.  “Pit stops were key to gaining track positions and we didn’t have the strongest pit stop and we had to fight to get the spots back that we lost.”

Grigas isn’t going to hang his head because the tour wraps up the season on October 19th at Thompson International Speedway.  Grigas record his best finish of the season, a third place run earlier in the year at Thompson.

“Hopefully things work out a lot better at Thompson, we had fast car at the last race there,” said Grigas.  “I qualified on the pole for one race and second for another race, so we know we have a fast car.  This is our best track and our best shot of getting a win before the end of the season.”
