Bobby Settles Into Sunoco Mod, Finishes Fourth
Dobule Duty With Sunoco Mod and Tour Mod Up Next at Thompson
Bobby Grigas, III had an up and down night with a good ending Thursday at Thompson International Speedway (CT). Over the course of the 40-lap Sunoco Modified feature, He led laps early, got spun out and went to the rear and made his way back up through the pack to finish fourth with the #00 James Paige-owned Modified.
Grigas is only three races into his Sunoco Modified career and appears to be learning all about the division quickly.
“This is a good car,” said Grigas. “It took a little bit of time to get used to driving it because a Sunoco Modified is completely different from a Tour Modified. They race differently and the way that you need to drive the car is different. We've been doing well together though and keep getting better every week.”
Grigas will return to Thompson this Thursday night to race both in the Sunoco Modified division and in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race there.
“I think that we have a chance to win both races,” said Grigas. “Hopefully the Tour car will be as good as it was here at the Icebreaker (where Grigas finished third) and at Stafford. We've been running up front and now we just need to try and finish there. I know that the #00 (Sunoco Modified) is going to be strong too, so it could be a good night.”
