Grigas Gets Ready for First Trip to Spencer
Hopes of Another Good Sunoco Mod Finish at Thompson Get Wrecked
Bobby Grigas heads to a racetrack this week that is new to him, but not to his trusty old racecar.  Grigas will take part in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour's return to Spencer Speedway (NY) on Saturday night.
“It's a new track to me, but my car has been there before,” said Grigas.  “I bought it from the Catalano family and they bought it when it was brand new.  It won back-to-back track championships at Spencer and I'm hoping to return it to some of its glory this week.”

Grigas is coming off a tough weekend of racing when he ran well, but ended up against the wall in the Sunoco Modified division at Thompson International Speedway.  He finished fifth in the first of two features, but got wrecked in the second one.

“Week by week, we've been making great gains with the Sunoco Modified,” said Grigas.  “The team has really been getting it to handle in a way that suits my driving style.  In the first show, we started in the back and finished fifth.  In the next race, I was racing everyone like they were racing me.  Most everyone was being good and we looked to finish no worse than fourth.  But then
another driver got into me and turned me straight into the wall.  It was a hard head-first hit and the car needed half a clip, but we'll be back.”

Grigas was credited with a finish of 18th in the second Sunoco Modified race at Thompson.
