Bobby Grigas, III seemed to have a hidden magnet on his racecars during the Modified Mania event at Thompson International Speedway. That might be the only logical explanation for why other cars seemed to be attracted to running into his own machines.
On lap five of the Sunoco Modified feature race, Grigas was part of a multi-car wreck that saw Shelly Perry's #76 Modified end up parked on his roof in turn two. The wreck looked scary, but Grigas was not injured.
Then in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour feature, Grigas was in position for a solid finish with 10 laps to go when a multi-car wreck on the fronstretch damaged his car and knocked him back in the field. Grigas recovered to finish on the lead lap in the 13th position.
“That's racing,” said Grigas. “There's not much that I can say. We had good cars in both races and were just in the wrong places at the wrong time. Now, hopefully everything will be different at New Hampshire. We should have a good car and I like running at the big track there. So we'll live and learn from this weekend and just move on to the next race.”
Grigas will compete in Saturday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon with the #09 Modified. The New Hampshire 100 is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET.
