After having success in Florida and North Carolina to start out his 2008 racing season, Bobby Grigas heads into this weekend ready for his first New England race of the young season.

Actually, it will be Grigas' first three New England races of the season.  The young Massachusetts driver will compete in two Sunoco Modified features and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race scheduled for this weekend's Icebreaker at Thompson International Speedway (CT).

“I'm really excited about this weekend and a little bit nervous too,” said Grigas.  “It's a new season up North, so you never know what that might bring.  I haven't practiced the Sunoco Modified yet, so that will be a new experience.  I'm looking forward to it though.  The chance to run a few races in one weekend is great.

“Racing the Sunoco Modified will be fun.  The competition is almost as good there as on the Tour.  There are some great guys and some great teams to race against.  As far as the Tour modified goes, we're just hoping to continue the momentum that we have from Speedweeks and Caraway.  We'll take it race by race and hope to have a good season in the works.”

There will be one Sunoco Modified race at Thompson on Saturday, April 5th and one on Sunday, April 6th.  In addition, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 6th.
