Bobby Grigas Looks Forward to Bristol Mod Test
Track Will Host First NASCAR Modified Tour Race in August
Up until this year, if a competitor on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour wanted to encounter the legendary high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway (TN), they would have to either move up in racing or settle for the television coverage of the races held there. But that is all set to change, as the Modifieds will tackle Bristol for the first time ever this August.
To prepare for that event, an open test will be held there on Monday, June 8th. This will be the first time that many drivers including Bobby Grigas, get the chance to hit the track there.
“I'm very excited,” said Grigas. “I'm definitely looking forward to this test and hoping that everything goes smoothly. I think that Bristol will be the type of track where I can excel at. I think that my style of driving will fit for Bristol.. I can drive aggressive and you shouldn't have to lift there. I love going into a corner as hard as possible and 90% of the time, you can't drive like that.”
A few teams on the Modified Tour have taken part in tire tests at Bristol and while Grigas has spoken to some of those competitors, he knows that it is no substitute for experiencing the track firsthand.
“You might talk to some people and get some points here and there,” said Grigas. “But you won't really know the track until you go out there.”
