Grigas Hopes To Turn Season Around at New Hampshire
A Great Race at The Magic Mile Can Highlight a Season of Racing
The 2009 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season has been a little bit frustrating for Bobby Grigas, III and his Triple G Scaffold Services team. The young driver from Massachusetts has shown speed on the Tour, but it has come with plenty of bad luck, parts failures and things of that nature. So the year has been a long one so far.
However the season is starting to turn around for Grigas, as shown by a solid eighth place result at the most recent event on the Tour at Thompson International Speedway (CT). This Saturday, Grigas will race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and one great race there could erase everything else this season - after all, the races at NHMS are the biggest events of the year for the Modified Tour.
“This hasn't been the best season so far, but things are looking up and hopefully we can come out of New Hampshire with a top five finish,” said Grigas. “That's what we are looking for and I think that we can do it this time. I love racing at New Hampshire and if I have a good car under me, I think that I can run right up there.”
Heading down the home stretch of the 2009 season, Grigas is also looking to move up in the NASCAR WMT standings over the final events of the year.
“We are less than 40 points out of the top 10, so hopefully at the end of the season we can turn things around and move up in the points.”
The #09 team also welcomes Tiny and Sons Glass from Pembroke, MA and "Twisted Tea" The Boston Beer Co. in Boston, MA as sponsors for the NHMS Race.
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at NHMS takes place this coming Saturday, September 19th.
